Megansett Harbor to Marion 9/19/26
Thank you WALSH FAMILY for a wonderful stay! Karen, Dave, Finlay, Isla, Calum and Dennie welcomed us with open arms in their AWESOME house in West Falmouth. They live in Utopia. Amazing harbors, beautiful beaches, tons of walking trails, public spaces and great bike path. Despite their crazy work and kid schedules they loaned us one of their cars so we could get some much-needed errands done. Dave cooked beautiful meals every night, we had cozy beds to sleep in! Also, Dave hooked us up with a phenomenal mooring (THANK YOU BOB WARNER!). We got a taste of life in warmer waters, swimming ashore to the beach, being able to do little projects that required swimming without the breath n being knocked out of our lungs and ice cream headaches from the frigid waters.
Lulu is applying to boarding schools and we went and visited Tabor Academy. We picked up a mooring right off of the school. We were promptly met my the Waterfront Director Alison Mitchell and Captain Virgina Land McGuire, Director of the Nautical Science Dept. Virgina (VA) was my CHIEF MATE aboard the SV CRAMER at SEA x 6 weeks during my semester at SEA 1997 (ish?). She looks exactly the same! BAD ASS!!! I can’t believe she remember me. We had an awesome tour of Tabor and got to meet the hard sailing coach Chris Connley (girl dad and chemistry teacher as well). Lulu got to head out and watch the sailing practice and meet a lot of the kids. Everyone knew a SAILMAINE really well and were got to brag and be proud of our home turf high school sailing program!
Beautiful sunset over Tabor Academy, so fun watching all the crew boats row around us, the life boat class practice their commands then hear all the kids head to the dining hall for dinner.
Lulu cooked a yummy zucchini pasta dinner and we watched Ted Lasso. Kinda a sweet day!
